Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026. This policy covers the Tiny Taste app for iPhone and the Tiny Taste service the app connects to.

Who we are

Tiny Taste is made by Scoop Systems, Inc. ("Scoop", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@scooplabs.ai.

What we collect

Tiny Taste only collects what you enter and what the app needs to run. It has no advertising, no advertising identifier, no location access, and no access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or Apple Health.

Information Where it comes from Why we use it
Account: the account identifier Sign in with Apple or Google gives us, your email address when the provider shares it, and your name if you add it in Profile. Apple or Google when you sign in, and you in Profile. To sign you in and to show your account in Profile. We do not send account emails.
Baby profile: your baby's name, birth date or due date, whether your baby was born early, and the optional answers you give during setup (such as feeding approach, dietary restrictions, eczema, and medical concerns you choose to note). You, during setup and in Profile. To fit foods, meals, and guidance to your baby's age and needs.
Feeding records: foods and meals your baby tried, reactions you log, allergen introductions, favorites, foods to try later, meal plans, recipe lists, custom foods, day notes, and readiness answers. You, as you use the app. This is the product: your tracker, plan, and progress all run on these records.
Questions you ask in Ask, and its answers. You, when you use Ask. To answer your question and keep your conversation. See Ask below.
Install details: a random install ID, device model, iOS version, app version, language, and, if you allow notifications, a push token. The app. To keep your devices in sync, show the right app version, and deliver notifications you allow.
Subscription status: the App Store's signed record of your purchase (plan, purchase and renewal dates, free trial, refunds). Apple, through the app and Apple's notifications to our service. To unlock Tiny Taste Premium.
Messages you send us. You, by email. To answer you.

Some of what you record, such as reactions and medical concerns, is health information about your baby. We use it only to show it back to you and to answer your questions in Ask.

What stays on your iPhone

The app keeps a copy of your records on your iPhone so it works without a connection. Your session token is stored in the iOS Keychain. Your cuisine choices, meal swaps and skips, weekly pace, and similar preferences stay on your iPhone only and are not sent to us.

Syncing

When you are signed in, the app sends your baby profiles and feeding records to the Tiny Taste service and keeps them in sync across your devices. A baby's records are shared by everyone who shares that baby; see Sharing a baby with caregivers.

Sharing a baby with caregivers

You can share a baby with up to 3 caregivers, such as a partner, grandparent, nanny, or daycare. You invite someone from Profile → Caregivers with a link or an 8-character code. A code works for one person and expires after 7 days, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it. Before accepting, the person you invite sees only your first name and the baby's first name.

Once someone joins, everyone who shares the baby can see and change the baby's profile and feeding records, including reactions and allergies, and can see each other's names in Caregivers. Questions you ask in Ask stay yours; other caregivers do not see your conversations. The baby's owner can remove a caregiver, and a caregiver can leave at any time; after that, their devices stop receiving the baby's records. If the owner deletes their account, the baby passes to the caregiver who joined first, or is deleted when there is none.

Ask

Ask answers feeding questions. When you send a question, the Tiny Taste service sends it, with the earlier messages in the conversation, to Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud Vertex AI. To answer, the model can look up Tiny Taste's food, recipe, and article library and your baby's profile and feeding records. We keep your conversations and any feedback you give on answers with your account, and we count how many questions you ask each day to apply usage limits. Under Google Cloud's terms, Google does not use this data to train its models without permission.

Ask can be wrong. It is not medical advice; see our Terms of Use.

Purchases

Tiny Taste Premium is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card or billing details. We use no other company to manage subscriptions. When you subscribe, the app tags the purchase with your Tiny Taste account ID and sends Apple's signed record of it to our service, which checks Apple's signature and stores your plan, its dates, and whether you are in the free trial. Apple tells our service directly when a subscription renews, ends, or is refunded.

One Premium subscription also covers up to 3 other people who share any of the subscriber's babies, counted in the order they joined. To work this out, our service looks at who shares which baby and whether the subscription is active. A covered person's app learns only that Premium is active for them, whether the plan is in its free trial, and when it ends; it never receives the subscriber's purchase details. Someone with their own paid subscription uses their own. This is separate from Apple's Family Sharing, which Tiny Taste does not use.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers, each only to run Tiny Taste.

Provider What they do What they receive
Apple App distribution, App Store payments and subscriptions, Sign in with Apple, push notifications. Sign-in tokens, your purchases and the account ID they are tagged with, push messages.
Google Sign in with Google; Google Cloud hosting for the Tiny Taste service and its database; Gemini on Vertex AI for Ask. Sign-in tokens; the service database; your Ask questions and what the model looks up to answer them.
PostHog Product analytics. Named product events with the app's random install ID, and your IP address, which PostHog discards. No account or contact details, and no health data.

Photos and videos in articles, recipes, and food pages load from the Tiny Taste service itself. Links to sources, such as health agencies, open only when you tap them.

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. We disclose information only to the providers above, when the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Analytics and logs

The app uses PostHog, an analytics service, to count how Tiny Taste is used so we can improve it. It sends a short list of named events, such as the app opening, an onboarding screen being viewed, a food being logged, or the Premium screen being shown, with only identifiers, counts, and yes-or-no values: for example the onboarding screen's identifier, a food's stage, or which plan was bought. Every event also carries your baby's age in whole months and whether Premium or its free trial is active. Events are tied to the app's random install ID. PostHog never receives your name, email address, or account ID, but Tiny Taste's servers also hold that install ID with your account. PostHog never receives your baby's name or birthday, allergies, eczema, reactions, diet, cuisine choices, anything you type, your taps, your screens, or recordings of the app. PostHog discards your IP address, and we have turned off its location lookup. PostHog stores these events in the United States on our behalf and does not use them for advertising. The app has no advertising or tracking software. For security and reliability, our servers log each request's address, status, and timing, with your IP address and the app's version, and keep those logs for 30 days. Those logs do not contain your records or what you type.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and records while your account exists. Our database keeps daily backups for 7 days so we can recover from a failure, so anything you delete, including a deleted account, is gone from the backups within 7 days after it is deleted. Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days or when you sign out.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your information, and to object to some processing. Write to hello@scooplabs.ai for anything you cannot do in the app. We will confirm the request comes from you before acting on it.

Children

Tiny Taste is for parents and caregivers, and you must be 18 or older to create an account. It is not directed to children. The information about your baby comes from you and is used only to provide Tiny Taste to you.

Where information is processed

The Tiny Taste service, its database, and the database's backups run on Google Cloud in Oregon, in the United States. To answer a question in Ask, Google may process it in any of its locations. If you use Tiny Taste from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.

Changes

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app first.
